1: Brian Michael Stableford (born 25 July 1948) is a British science fiction writer who has published more than 70 novels. His earlier books were published under the name Brian M. Stableford, but more recent ones have dropped the middle initial and appeared under the name Brian Stableford. He has also used the pseudonym Brian Craig for a couple of very early works, and again for a few more recent works. The pseudonym derives from the first names of himself and of a school friend from the 1960s, Craig A. Mackintosh, with whom he jointly published some very early work.
2: Ron Goulart (born January 13, 1933) is an American popular culture historian and mystery, fantasy and science fiction author. Goulart was prolific, and wrote many novelizations and other routine work under various pseudonyms: Kenneth Robeson, Con Steffanson, Chad Calhoun, R.T. Edwards, Ian R. Jamieson, Josephine Kains, Jillian Kearny, Howard Lee, Zeke Masters, Frank S. Shawn, and Joseph Silva.
3: Suzette Haden Elgin (born Patricia Anne Suzette Wilkins; November 18, 1936 – January 27, 2015) was an American researcher in experimental linguistics, construction and evolution of languages and poetry and science fiction writer. She founded the Science Fiction Poetry Association and is considered an important figure in the field of science fiction constructed languages. Her best-known non-fiction includes her Verbal Self-Defense series.
4: Doris Piserchia's first novel is Mister Justice. (later reprinted in hardcover in Britain.) She produced just over a dozen SF novels in the 1970's and early 1980's, several of them under the pseudonym Curt Selby.
5: Sam J. Lundwall was a Swedish fan, critic, and writer. ACE editor Donald Wollheim explains in his introduction to these stories that after contracting for one book, Lundwall got the idea of treating the situation in two very different ways - and the Ace Double format is the perfect medium to present such different "takes." The situation of these stories in common is planet fall on a long-abandoned world.

Instead of resuing old stock, it appears that ACE Books reissued this volume with the same cover art as ACE F-106 (note that the Podwil signature that is easily visible in the F-series has been nearly airbrushed out in the five-digit series edition) for The Gun From Nowhere. However, they did not reuse the cover art from ACE F-106 for Justice At Spanish Flats

4: Hierarchies by John T. Phillifent was serialized in Analog during October and November 1971 and feature Interstellar Security agents Sixx & Lowry. The other story with these characters is Genus Unlimited (which appeared in book form in 1972)
5: Bancroft's Banco and The Seven Six-Gunners was originally published as ACE Double F-224 (1963). The white number block on this volume indicates the reuse of the unsold F-series book as a 5-digit series release. A real example of the reuse of earlier volumes and how the issue of PBO (paperback original) among the ACE Doubles can be easily confused.
